Audio Converter
The Audio Converter turns audio files into lossless WAV, right in your browser. Drop in an MP3, M4A, OGG, FLAC, or other browser-decodable format, and the tool decodes it locally and exports a clean 16-bit WAV you can download — no upload, no signup, no watermark. WAV is the universal, uncompressed format that virtually every editor, DAW, and platform accepts, which makes it the safe choice when a tool demands a specific input or when you want a pristine master to work from. Converting to WAV is exactly what you need when an exported AI track is in a format your video editor dislikes, when you want to drop a compressed file into a DAW without further loss, or when a submission requires uncompressed audio. Unlike services that upload your file to a server to convert it, this tool does everything locally with the Web Audio API, so your audio — including unreleased work — never leaves your device. A note on scope: this converter currently exports WAV only, because the browser can decode many formats but lossless WAV export needs no extra encoder and is instant and reliable. If you specifically need to export MP3 or another compressed format, that requires a heavier in-browser audio engine, which is on our roadmap; for now, WAV covers the most common need — getting any file into a clean, universally compatible form. To shrink a file instead of converting it, use the Audio Compressor. It is free, requires no signup, and runs entirely in your browser, so even unreleased work stays private while you get a clean, compatible file.

Frequently asked questions
What formats can I convert from?
Any format your browser can decode — MP3, M4A/AAC, OGG, FLAC, WebM audio, and more. The output is a lossless 16-bit WAV.
Can it convert to MP3?
Not yet — it exports WAV, which needs no extra encoder and is instant and reliable in the browser. MP3 export needs a heavier audio engine, which is planned. For smaller files, use the Audio Compressor.
Is my file uploaded to convert it?
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser with the Web Audio API. Your audio never leaves your device.
Is the conversion lossless?
Yes — WAV is uncompressed, so converting to it adds no further quality loss. (If the source was already lossy, like an MP3, the WAV preserves that source faithfully but cannot restore what lossy compression removed.)
Why convert to WAV at all?
WAV is the universal, uncompressed format every editor and DAW accepts. It is the safe choice for editing, mastering, or submitting audio when quality and compatibility matter.
