Volume Changer

The Volume Changer makes any audio file louder or quieter and exports the result as a clean WAV, right in your browser. Drop in an MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG or FLAC, drag the slider from 0% to 300%, preview the change live, and download — no upload, no signup, no watermark. It is the fastest fix for a track that is too quiet to sit in a mix or too loud and clipping, and for matching the level of one clip to another before you join them. Preview uses a live gain control so you hear the slider instantly; the download re-renders the audio at your chosen level and hard-limits any peaks to prevent digital clipping, then exports lossless 16-bit WAV. Everything runs locally with the Web Audio API, so your audio — including unreleased work — never leaves your device. Note that boosting a quiet recording also raises its noise floor, and pushing far above 100% can sound harsh as peaks are clamped; nudge the level in steps and trust your ears. To even out a track with heavy peaks instead, try the Audio Compressor; to reverse a clip, use the Audio Reverser.

Frequently asked questions

Is my file uploaded to change the volume?

No. The adjustment happens entirely in your browser with the Web Audio API. Your audio never leaves your device.

How loud can I make it?

Up to 300% of the original level. Peaks are hard-limited to [-1, 1] on export to prevent digital clipping, though large boosts can still sound harsh.

Will boosting the volume add noise?

Boosting raises everything, including any background hiss — so a quiet, noisy recording will get louder and noisier. Increase in small steps and listen.

What format is the output?

A lossless 16-bit WAV, accepted by virtually every editor, DAW and platform.
